Description

Designed for the precise measurement of Multidrug Resistance-Associated Protein 6 (ABCC6) levels in human samples, this Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is intended for research applications in pharmacology, oncology, and molecular biology. The kit is reactive with human samples and validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Quantitative performance figures reported for the kit include a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 21pg/mL. Intra-assay CV is 4.7% and inter-assay CV is 8.3%. Linearity across dilutions (1:2, 1:4, 1:8, 1:16) ranges from 92-103% to 82-92% for serum (N=5), 93-104% to 88-98% for EDTA plasma (N=5), and 104-116% to 100-109% for heparin plasma (N=5). Recovery averages 111% (range 105-117%) for serum and 113% (range 107-119%) for plasma. The assay is specific for natural and recombinant human ABCC6, also known by the synonyms ATP-binding cassette sub-family C member 6, Anthracycline resistance-associated protein, Multi-specific organic anion transporter E, MOAT-E, ARA, and MRP6 (UniProt O95255).

ABCC6, also referred to as Multidrug Resistance Protein 6 (MRP6), is an ABC-family transporter involved in cellular detoxification and drug resistance processes. Dysregulation of ABCC6 has been linked to pseudoxanthoma elasticum (PXE) and cardiovascular disorders, highlighting its significance as a potential biomarker for disease progression and therapeutic intervention. Isoform 2 of the protein inhibits TNF-alpha-mediated apoptosis through blocking one or more caspases and localises to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane as a single-pass membrane protein, with a reported molecular weight of 165 kDa. For research use only.
