Human Mucin-7 (MUC7) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human Mucin-7 (MUC7) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids using a colorimetric detection method. The kit detects both natural and recombinant human Mucin-7.

Reported performance includes a detection range of 0.47-30 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.15 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 4.1% and inter-assay CV is 6.9%. Recovery averages 101% (range 95-107%) in serum and 103% (range 97-109%) in plasma.

Mucin-7 is a secreted monomeric mucin protein implicated in mucosal defense and immune response, and is associated with cystic fibrosis, COPD, and inflammatory bowel disease. The protein may function in a protective capacity by promoting clearance of bacteria in the oral cavity and aiding in mastication, speech, and swallowing, and binds P. aeruginosa pili.
