Human Mucin 6/MUC6 ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit uses a double-antibody format for the quantitative detection of human Mucin 6 (MUC6) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, cell or tissue lysates, and other liquid samples. Mucin 6 is a mucin protein that contributes to protecting and lubricating the mucosal lining of the gastrointestinal tract, and abnormalities in MUC6 expression have been linked to conditions such as gastric cancer and inflammatory bowel disease.

Manufacturer-reported performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a measurable range of 0.313–20 ng/mL. Linearity in serum (n=5) is 90–96% at 1:2, 92–105% at 1:4, and 92–97% at 1:8; EDTA plasma (n=5) returns 88–94%, 85–98%, and 82–97% across the same dilutions; heparin plasma (n=5) returns 83–96%, 83–98%, and 80–98%. Recovery ranges are 87–101% for serum (average 96%), 86–101% for EDTA plasma (average 92%), and 88–102% for heparin plasma (average 95%).

The protocol involves incubating standards or samples in pre-coated wells at 37°C for 90 minutes, adding a biotin-labeled detection antibody with incubation at 37°C for 60 minutes, applying HRP-Streptavidin at 37°C for 30 minutes, developing with TMB substrate in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and reading absorbance at 450 nm after the stop solution. Unopened kit components are intended for storage at 2–8°C for 12 months.
