Human Mucin-5B (MUC5B) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit is designed for the quantitative detection of Human Mucin-5B (MUC5B) in human samples using a colorimetric ELISA method. The assay is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with specificity for natural and recombinant human Mucin-5B (UniProt Q9HC84).

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312–20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.098ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 4.9% and inter-assay CV of 7.7%. Recovery is reported at an average of 91% (range 85–97%) for serum and 93% (range 87–99%) for plasma. MUC5B is described as a gel-forming mucin thought to contribute to the lubricating and viscoelastic properties of whole saliva and cervical mucus, and is a secreted protein localised to the extracellular space.
