Human Mucin-3A (MUC3A) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for quantitative detection of human Mucin-3A (MUC3A), also referred to as Intestinal mucin-3A or MUC-3A. The kit is intended for use with human-derived samples such as serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids.

Performance is defined by a detection range of 0.625-40ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.32ng/mL. Reproducibility is reported with an intra-assay CV of 4.9% and an inter-assay CV of 9.3%. Linearity spans 104-116% / 92-101% / 105-115% / 112-121% in serum (1:2 to 1:16), 107-117% / 101-111% / 104-114% / 83-94% in EDTA plasma, and 103-115% / 88-101% / 107-117% / 86-98% in heparin plasma. Recovery averages 90% (range 84-96%) for serum and 92% (range 86-98%) for plasma. Specificity covers natural and recombinant human Mucin-3A.

MUC3A is a major glycoprotein component of mucus gels, contributing to a protective, lubricating barrier against particles and infectious agents at mucosal surfaces, and may participate in ligand binding and intracellular signaling. Dysregulation of MUC3A has been associated with Inflammatory Bowel Disease 11, with the human ortholog mapped to chromosomal locus 7q22.
