Human Mucin-12 (MUC12) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit is designed for the precise quantitation of human Mucin-12 (MUC12), also referred to by the synonyms Mucin-11, MUC-11 and MUC11. The assay is calibrated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids and is reactive with human samples. Detection is colorimetric, with a working range of 0.625–40 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.3 ng/mL.

Validation data for human matrices is provided. Linearity across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions was 88–97%, 105–114%, 97–106% and 110–120% for serum (n=5); 96–105%, 93–103%, 99–108% and 85–96% for EDTA plasma (n=5); and 96–106%, 87–99%, 101–110% and 102–112% for heparin plasma (n=5). Average recovery was 104% from serum (range 98–110%) and 106% from plasma (range 100–112%). Intra-assay CV was 4.2% and inter-assay CV was 8.5%.

MUC12 (UniProt Q9UKN1) is an O-glycosylated integral membrane glycoprotein of the mucin family with a reported molecular weight of 81 kDa. It is expressed on the apical surface of epithelial cells lining mucosal tissues and is implicated in forming protective mucous barriers, epithelial renewal, differentiation and intracellular signalling.
