Human MUC7/Mucin-7 ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Mucin-7 (MUC7) levels in research samples. MUC7 is a member of the mucin protein family involved in mucosal defense and immune response, and has been implicated in conditions such as cystic fibrosis, COPD, and inflammatory bowel disease, supporting its value as a research biomarker.

The colorimetric assay accepts human serum and plasma samples, and some configurations are also validated for tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants, saliva, and other biological fluids. Reported performance varies by configuration: one variant provides a detection range of 0.47-30ng/mL with sensitivity of 0.15ng/ml, while another reports sensitivity of 0.123 ng/mL across a range of 0.32-20 ng/mL. Intra-assay precision is reported as CV%<8% with inter-assay precision of CV%<10%, and intra-CV of 4.1% with inter-CV of 6.9% documented for a different format.

MUC7 is a secreted monomeric glycoprotein (UniProt Q8TAX7, molecular weight 39,159 Da) that may function protectively by promoting clearance of bacteria in the oral cavity and aiding mastication, speech, and swallowing, and binds P. aeruginosa pili. Synonyms for the target include Apo-MG2, Salivary mucin-7, MUC-7, and MG2. The kit is intended for research use only.
