The Assay Genie human MTPN (Myotrophin) immunoassay supports quantitative measurement of this 12 kDa protein in cardiovascular and metabolic research. Myotrophin is a cytoplasmic factor originally identified in spontaneously hypertensive rat hearts, where it stimulates protein synthesis and promotes cardiomyocyte hypertrophy.

It is expressed in cardiac tissue, skeletal muscle, brain and pancreas, and has been investigated as a candidate biomarker in dilated cardiomyopathy, hypertensive heart disease and chronic heart failure.
