MRM1 (Mitochondrial rRNA Methyltransferase 1) is a nuclear-encoded 2'-O-ribose methyltransferase that localizes to the mitochondrial matrix, where it catalyzes methylation of the 16S mitochondrial rRNA at the conserved A936 position. This base modification supports assembly of the mitoribosome and stable translation of mitochondrially-encoded oxidative phosphorylation subunits.

Researchers use this Assay Genie kit to quantify MRM1 in human samples, supporting investigations of mitochondrial biogenesis, oxidative metabolism, and disorders linked to impaired mitochondrial translation.
