This phosphorylation ELISA from Assay Genie selectively quantifies the doubly phosphorylated, catalytically active form of MEK1 (also known as MAP2K1), recognising epitopes at serine 217 and serine 221 within the kinase activation loop. Because activating phosphorylation at these residues is the convergence point of the canonical RAS-RAF-MEK-ERK signalling cascade, the kit is used to track upstream pathway flux in response to growth factors, oncogenic RAS or RAF mutations, and small-molecule MEK inhibitors. Researchers apply it to cell lysates and tissue lysates to study mitogenic signalling in cancer cell lines, neuronal cultures and animal disease models, and to confirm target engagement during preclinical inhibitor development.
