MEK1 (MAP2K1) occupies a central node of the RAS-RAF-MEK-ERK cascade, where phosphorylation at Ser217 and Ser221 by upstream RAF kinases represents the principal activating event that propagates mitogenic signaling to ERK1/2.

This kit is widely used in oncology research, including melanoma, colorectal, and non-small cell lung carcinoma studies, where constitutive MAPK pathway activation drives tumor proliferation.
