The Phospho-SHC (Y427) ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is engineered to quantify tyrosine 427 phosphorylation of the SHC1 adaptor protein, a key signaling intermediate downstream of activated receptor tyrosine kinases. SHC1 couples ligand-stimulated receptors to the Ras-MAPK and PI3K-Akt cascades, and phosphorylation at Tyr427 on the p66Shc isoform has been associated with oxidative-stress signaling, growth factor responses, and metabolic regulation. The microplate-based assay uses a colorimetric readout and accepts cell lysates and tissue lysates prepared from human, mouse, and rat sources, enabling direct cross-species comparison in cancer, diabetes, and aging research. Each kit provides pre-coated wells, a phospho-specific capture antibody, detection reagents, and recombinant protein standards.
