Human Monoamine Oxidase A (MAOA) ELISA Kit

Monoamine oxidase A (MAO-A) is a mitochondrial outer-membrane flavoenzyme that catalyzes the oxidative deamination of monoamine neurotransmitters such as serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine, and quantitative measurement of MAO-A in clinical and experimental samples supports research into depression, anxiety, aggression, cardiovascular disease, and neurodevelopmental disorders.

This Assay Genie assay uses a two-site biotin-streptavidin immunoassay workflow on a pre-coated microplate with a horseradish peroxidase (HRP) reporter and TMB substrate, providing quantitative readouts of human MAO-A in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, and other biological fluids. The capture and detection antibodies are selective for MAO-A and show no significant cross-reactivity with MAO-B, ensuring accurate discrimination between the two isoenzymes in mixed samples.

The protocol requires only 50 uL of sample per well, with a total run time of roughly 3 to 4 hours at room temperature incubation. Reagents are supplied ready-to-use or as concentrated stocks and should be refrigerated; the kit is intended for research use only and is not validated for diagnostic procedures.
