Description

A high-quality Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human MOCOS (Molybdenum cofactor sulfurase). The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich format with colorimetric detection and is validated for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, with a research focus on metabolism.

MOCOS sulfurates the molybdenum cofactor, a modification that is essential for activation of xanthine dehydrogenase (XDH) and aldehyde oxidase (ADO), in which molybdenum is liganded by one oxygen and one sulfur atom in the active form. The enzyme is recorded under UniProt Q96EN8, and documented synonyms include MCS, MOS, MoCo sulfurase, hMCS, and molybdenum cofactor sulfurtransferase.

Manufacturer data report a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a working range of 0.313–20 ng/mL. Spiking recovery is stated as 86–100% (average 95%) for serum, 85–100% (average 97%) for EDTA plasma, and 88–103% (average 92%) for heparin plasma (n=5 each). Linearity across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions falls within 89–99%, 82–99%, and 88–102% for serum; 88–97%, 80–93%, and 85–101% for EDTA plasma; and 87–100%, 87–99%, and 88–104% for heparin plasma (n=5 each). Reagents should be stored at 2–8°C and the kit is stable for 12 months under those conditions. For research use only.
