Human MMP 2 ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2), also known as gelatinase A, 72 kDa gelatinase, CLG4, collagenase type IV-A, or 72 kDa type IV collagenase. The assay uses a colorimetric, double-antibody detection method and is validated for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, with a sensitivity of 0.191 ng/mL and a working range of 0.5–32 ng/mL.

MMP-2 is a key enzyme involved in tissue remodelling and extracellular matrix degradation, playing roles in wound healing, cell migration, and invasion. It is a valuable biomarker for research into cancer, inflammation, and cardiovascular disease, making the kit a useful tool for investigating disease progression and developing targeted therapies within the cardiovascular research area. Reagents should be stored at 2–8°C and remain stable for up to 12 months. The protocol follows a standard sandwich ELISA workflow: equilibrate reagents and TMB substrate to room temperature, incubate the pre-coated plate at 37°C for 90 minutes for primary antigen binding, add biotin-labelled detection antibody for 60 minutes, incubate with HRP-Streptavidin conjugate for 30 minutes, develop with TMB substrate in the dark for 10–20 minutes, then add stop solution and measure absorbance at 450 nm.
