MAP2K1 (MEK1) is a dual-specificity kinase at the core of the RAS-RAF-MEK-ERK signaling cascade, phosphorylating ERK1 and ERK2 to drive cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival responses. The Assay Genie Human MAP2K1 ELISA Kit provides a quantitative immunoassay for measuring this enzyme in human research samples, supporting studies of pathway dysregulation in melanoma, colorectal carcinoma, lung adenocarcinoma, and other tumor types carrying BRAF, NRAS, or KRAS mutations, as well as investigations of developmental and inflammatory signaling.

Built around a pre-coated microplate, this kit includes the standards, detection antibody, and buffer reagents required to generate a full calibration curve and process samples in replicate. It is calibrated for tissue homogenates, with protocols adaptable to cell lysate preparations from cultured lines used in signal-transduction research. The assay is intended for research use only and serves laboratories monitoring endogenous MEK1 expression as a biomarker of MAPK-pathway activity, evaluating response to small-molecule MEK inhibitors, or profiling kinase levels across patient-derived tissue specimens. Reagents should be stored refrigerated when not in use and protected from light to preserve activity.
