The Human Mitofilin ELISA Kit from Assay Genie enables quantitative measurement of Mitofilin (also known as IMMT or Mic60), an 88 kDa mitochondrial inner membrane protein that serves as a core component of the MICOS (mitochondrial contact site and cristae organizing system) complex. Mitofilin anchors the MICOS machinery to the inner mitochondrial membrane, where it regulates cristae junction formation, mtDNA nucleoid distribution, and respiratory supercomplex assembly.

Investigators studying mitochondrial dysfunction in Parkinson's disease, Barth syndrome, diabetic cardiomyopathy, and ischemia-reperfusion injury rely on Mitofilin quantification as a marker of inner membrane architecture. The kit also supports drug screening workflows aimed at restoring cristae morphology in Friedreich's ataxia cellular models.

Each kit contains a pre-coated microplate and reagents for 96 determinations, including serial-dilution standards, a biotinylated detection antibody, and streptavidin-HRP conjugate. Standards are reconstituted in 1 mL of assay diluent, and the protocol calls for 100 µL of sample per well with overnight incubation at 4 °C to maximize antibody binding.
