Human Mitochondrial uncoupling protein 2 (UCP2) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of Human Mitochondrial uncoupling protein 2 (UCP2) in human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, using an ELISA detection method. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human Mitochondrial uncoupling protein 2, also referred to by the synonyms Solute carrier family 25 member 8, UCPH, UCP 2, and SLC25A8. UCP2 acts as a dimer forming a proton channel, functioning as a mitochondrial transporter protein that creates proton leaks across the inner mitochondrial membrane, thereby uncoupling oxidative phosphorylation from ATP synthesis.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.07 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 4.5% and inter-assay CV is 6.9%. Linearity has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. Recovery averaged 101% in serum (range 95–107%) and 103% in plasma (range 97–109%).
