Human Mitochondrial carnitine/acylcarnitine carrier protein (SLC25A20) ELISA Kit

A Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of human Mitochondrial carnitine/acylcarnitine carrier protein (SLC25A20) in serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants. The target protein mediates the transport of acylcarnitines of different length across the mitochondrial inner membrane from the cytosol to the mitochondrial matrix for oxidation by the mitochondrial fatty acid-oxidation pathway, and plays a crucial role in fatty acid metabolism and energy production. Dysregulation of SLC25A20 has been linked to metabolic disorders including fatty acid oxidation disorders and carnitine-acylcarnitine translocase deficiency, an autosomal recessive condition that is usually lethal within hours or days after birth.

According to the manufacturer, the kit has a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.039ng/mL. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 5.7% and an inter-assay CV of 9.3%. Linearity in serum (N=5) ranged from 91-101% at 1:2 to 97-109% at 1:16, with EDTA plasma showing 83-93% at 1:2 and 90-100% at 1:16. Recovery in serum averaged 104% (range 98-110) and in plasma averaged 106% (range 100-112). Specificity covers natural and recombinant human SLC25A20, and the product is intended for research use only.
