Human Mitochondrial brown fat uncoupling protein 1 (UCP1) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative detection of human mitochondrial brown fat uncoupling protein 1 (UCP1), also known as thermogenin, SLC25A7, UCP or UCP 1. The kit is intended for research applications relating to UCP1's role in brown adipose tissue thermogenesis, non-shivering heat production and the regulation of energy balance, areas of interest in studies of obesity, diabetes and other metabolic disorders.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL, a sensitivity of 28pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 5.6% and an inter-assay CV of 8.5%. Recovery is 99% in serum (range 93-105) and 101% in plasma (range 95-107). Linearity with serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions ranges from 84% to 118% of expected values.

The kit is validated for use with human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids, and detects natural and recombinant human UCP1 (UniProt P25874). Storage temperatures of -20°C and 4°C are required for the supplied components. For research use only.
