Human Midkine ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human Midkine (MDK) in serum, plasma and other biological fluids. The assay is reactive with human samples and detects both natural and recombinant Midkine.

Midkine is a developmentally regulated, secreted heparin-binding growth factor homologous to pleiotrophin. It binds anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK), inducing downstream signalling via the insulin receptor substrate (IRS1), MAPK and PI3-kinase pathways, and is involved in cell proliferation, migration, neointima formation after arterial injury and early fetal adrenal gland development.

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the kit has a detection range of 78–5000 pg/mL with a sensitivity of 30 pg/mL. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 5.2% and an inter-assay CV of 7.5%, with linearity and recovery data provided for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples.
