Description
Designed for the quantitative measurement of human Microtubule-associated protein 2 (MAP2), this Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie enables accurate detection across a range of sample matrices. The assay is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with reactivity confirmed against human samples.
Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.055ng/mL. Intra-assay precision is reported at 4.7% (Intra CV) and inter-assay precision at 9.0% (Inter CV). Recovery has been demonstrated in serum (average 95%, range 89-101%) and plasma (average 97%, range 91-103%). Linearity has been evaluated across serial dilutions (1:2, 1:4, 1:8, 1:16) in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. The kit specifically detects natural and recombinant human Microtubule-associated protein 2 (UniProt: P11137).
MAP2 is a member of the microtubule-associated protein family, thought to stabilize microtubules against depolymerization and contribute a stiffening effect on microtubules. It is associated with neuronal development and plasticity, and abnormalities have been linked to neurodegenerative disorders and cognitive impairment, supporting its use as a biomarker within the neurosciences research area. The protein localizes to the cytoplasm, cytoskeleton, cell projections and dendrites. For research use only.
