Description

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human MHC class I polypeptide-related sequence A (MICA), also known by the synonyms MIC-A and PERB11.1. The kit uses a colorimetric detection method and is validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, for research use only.

MICA is a stress-induced self-antigen recognized by gamma delta T-cells and acts as a ligand for the KLRK1/NKG2D receptor, with binding leading to cell lysis. Dysregulation of MICA expression has been linked to autoimmune disorders and cancer, highlighting its significance as a biomarker for disease detection and monitoring. Specificity is directed against natural and recombinant human MICA (UniProt Q29983), and the product is intended for immunology research.

Performance specifications include a sensitivity of 33 pg/mL and a detection range of 78-5000 pg/mL. Intra-assay precision is reported at 5.6% (CV) and inter-assay precision at 8.9% (CV). Linearity has been demonstrated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, with serum recovery averaging 107% (range 101-113%) and plasma recovery averaging 109% (range 103-115%).
