MGAT5B (mannosyl-glycoprotein beta-1,6-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase B), also referred to as GnT-IX, is a Golgi-resident glycosyltransferase that catalyzes the addition of GlcNAc branches to N-linked oligosaccharides. The encoded protein is highly expressed in brain tissue and contributes to neural glycoprotein maturation, with documented roles in neuronal development.
