Human Methionine synthase (MTR) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit is intended for the measurement of human Methionine synthase (MTR) levels in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Methionine synthase catalyses the transfer of a methyl group from methyl-cobalamin to homocysteine, yielding enzyme-bound cob(I)alamin and methionine, and subsequently remethylates the cofactor using methyltetrahydrofolate. The enzyme contributes to DNA methylation and synthesis, and its dysregulation has been associated with cardiovascular diseases, neurological disorders and developmental abnormalities.

The assay is configured to detect natural and recombinant human Methionine synthase using a colorimetric detection method. It provides a detection range of 0.625-40ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.23ng/mL. Reported precision includes an intra-assay CV of 6.1% and an inter-assay CV of 10.2%. Linearity has been characterised for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, and recovery averages 96% for serum (range 90-102%) and 98% for plasma (range 92-104%).
