Human Metallothionein 1 ELISA Kit

A Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie designed for the precise measurement of human metallothionein-1 (MT1) levels in serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants. Using a double antibody sandwich format, the kit enables the in vitro quantitative determination of human MT1 concentrations in plasma and other biological fluids. Metallothionein-1 is a key protein involved in the regulation of metal ion homeostasis and detoxification, helping protect cells from heavy metal toxicity and oxidative stress, and is a valuable research target in conditions such as metal poisoning, neurodegenerative diseases, and cancer.

Reported performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 9.375 pg/ml and an assay range of 15.625-1000 pg/ml. Spike-and-recovery testing in EDTA plasma (n=5) gave a range of 85-102% with an average of 96%, and UFH plasma (n=5) gave 85-102% with an average of 95%. Linearity of serially diluted spiked samples was reported at 83-97%, 82-91% and 91-101% for EDTA plasma, and 83-100%, 83-96% and 80-95% for UFH plasma.
