Key performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.39–25 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.21 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 3.4% and an inter-assay CV of 7.2%. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human Metalloreductase STEAP1 and is intended for cancer research applications. Reported recovery ranges are 82–94% for serum (average 88%) and 84–96% for plasma (average 90%).

STEAP1 is a metalloreductase that reduces both Fe(3+) to Fe(2+) and Cu(2+) to Cu(1+) using NAD(+) as acceptor.
