Human Metalloproteinase inhibitor 2 (TIMP2) ELISA Kit

Built around a pre-coated microplate and chromogenic substrate detection, the Assay Genie Human TIMP2 ELISA Kit quantifies endogenous tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases 2 (TIMP2) in human research specimens. TIMP2 is a 21 kDa secreted glycoprotein that regulates extracellular matrix turnover by binding and inhibiting matrix metalloproteinases (MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-9), and it independently modulates cell cycle progression through the cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor pathway. The kit is therefore widely used in studies of tumour invasion, fibrotic disease, pre-eclampsia, cardiovascular remodelling, and acute kidney injury, where circulating TIMP2 concentrations often shift in parallel with disease activity or therapeutic response.

A standard curve is generated from recombinant human TIMP2 supplied with the kit, allowing interpolation of unknown sample concentrations against a known reference. All reagents required to run the assay are supplied in this single pack, intended for in vitro research use only, not for diagnostic procedures. Reagents should be refrigerated, protected from light, and aliquoted to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles that would compromise antibody activity. The microplate is pre-coated with capture antibody specific for human TIMP2, and detection is achieved through a labelled secondary antibody whose signal is read on a standard plate reader.
