Human Metal regulatory transcription factor 1 (MTF1) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the accurate quantification of human Metal regulatory transcription factor 1 (MTF1), a C2H2-type zinc finger protein also referred to as MRE-binding transcription factor or Transcription factor MTF-1. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is intended for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids.

MTF1 localizes to the nucleus and functions by binding to the metal responsive element (MRE) to activate the metallothionein I promoter, playing a central role in metal homeostasis and the cellular response to heavy metals such as cadmium, zinc, copper, and silver. The corresponding gene maps to chromosomal position 1p33 and encodes a protein of 80,957 Da. The kit specifically detects natural and recombinant human MTF1 and is labelled for research use only.

Quantitative performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.78-50 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.32 ng/mL. Precision is reported as an intra-assay CV of 5.3% and an inter-assay CV of 8.2%. Recovery was evaluated in serum (average 86%, range 80-92%) and plasma (average 88%, range 82-94%), with linearity demonstrated across serial dilutions in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma.
