Description

A sandwich-format colourimetric immunoassay from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human Mesothelin (MSLN). The kit is reactive with human samples and is validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. Detection is read at 450 nm following standard sandwich ELISA workflows.

Manufacturer-reported performance figures include a detection range of 0.78–50 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.098 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 4.2% and an inter-assay CV of 7.8%. Specificity is stated for natural and recombinant human Mesothelin. Linearity across dilutions 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 is reported as: serum (N=5) 99–110%, 101–112%, 86–99%, 99–110%; EDTA plasma (N=5) 93–102%, 102–110%, 114–126%, 88–97%; heparin plasma (N=5) 113–123%, 106–118%, 89–98%, 113–113%. Spike-and-recovery averages 101% for serum (range 95–107%) and 103% for plasma (range 97–109%).

Mesothelin (MSLN; UniProt Q13421) is a GPI-anchored cell-surface glycoprotein whose membrane-anchored forms may contribute to cellular adhesion. The protein interacts with MUC16, and MSLN-targeting antibodies have been detected in patients with mesothelioma and ovarian cancer. The precursor also yields megakaryocyte-potentiating factor (MPF), a cytokine that stimulates megakaryocyte colony formation in vitro. For research use only.
