Description

Assay Genie supplies this colorimetric sandwich ELISA for the quantitative detection of human Membrane primary amine oxidase (AOC3), a protein also referred to as Copper amine oxidase, HPAO, Semicarbazide-sensitive amine oxidase, Vascular adhesion protein 1, SSAO, VAP-1 and VAP1. Intended for research use only, the kit is reactive with human samples and has been validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. It recognises both natural and recombinant human Membrane primary amine oxidase.

Quoted performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 0.082ng/mL, a detection range of 1.56-100ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 5.1% and an inter-assay CV of 10.0%. Linearity has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across serial sample dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. Recovery is reported for serum (average 97%, range 91-103%) and plasma (average 99%, range 93-105%).

AOC3 belongs to the copper/topaquinone oxidase family and functions as a cell adhesion protein with semicarbazide-sensitive monoamine oxidase activity. It participates in lymphocyte extravasation and recirculation by mediating the binding of lymphocytes to peripheral lymph node vascular endothelial cells, and may also play a part in adipogenesis. The kit is suited to research in neurosciences.
