Human Melanotropin beta PharmaGenie ELISA Kit (SBRS0009)

The Assay Genie Melanotropin beta immunoassay is built on a competitive ELISA format and targets the β-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (β-MSH), a 22-amino-acid peptide cleaved from the proopiomelanocortin (POMC) precursor. β-MSH acts on melanocortin receptors and has been investigated in research contexts spanning pigmentation biology, adrenal and pituitary signaling, renal and cardiovascular physiology, inflammatory responses, and metabolic regulation.

The kit has been validated with conditioned cell culture media alongside matched specimen types, including K2-EDTA plasma, heparin plasma, and serum. Each well requires a sample volume of 50 μL. Capture antibodies are human-specific, with no significant cross-reactivity observed against related melanocortin peptides such as α-MSH, γ-MSH, or ACTH under standard assay conditions.

Unopened reagents should be refrigerated at 4 °C, while reconstituted standards and detection antibody vials are best stored frozen at -20 °C in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles. The complete set is delivered in a microplate format with all buffers, conjugate, substrate, and stop solution required to run the full plate.
