Description

This sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Melanoma-derived growth regulatory protein (MIA), also known as melanoma inhibitory activity protein. The assay is reactive with human samples and has been validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit employs a colorimetric detection method, with a detection range of 31.2-2000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 15.69pg/mL, providing researchers with a reliable tool for studies of melanoma biology and related applications.

MIA is a secreted protein that elicits growth inhibition on melanoma cells in vitro as well as on some other neuroectodermal tumors, including gliomas, and belongs to the MIA/OTOR family. The kit shows specificity for natural and recombinant human MIA (UniProt Q16674) and the protein is reported to interact with FASLG and TMIGD2. Elevated MIA levels have been associated with melanoma progression and poor prognosis, making the protein a useful biomarker for monitoring disease status. For research use only.
