Description

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Melanoma antigen recognized by T-cells 1 (MLANA) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay is reactive with human samples and uses a colorimetric detection method to deliver reproducible data for cancer research applications.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL, a sensitivity of 31pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 8.9% and an inter-assay CV of 11.5%. Recovery in serum averaged 104% (range 98-110%) and in plasma averaged 106% (range 100-112%). The kit shows specificity for natural and recombinant human MLANA, also known by the synonyms Antigen LB39-AA, Antigen SK29-AA, Protein Melan-A, MART-1, and MART1.

MLANA is involved in melanosome biogenesis by ensuring the stability of GPR143, and plays a vital role in the expression, stability, trafficking, and processing of melanocyte protein PMEL, which is critical to the formation of stage II melanosomes. The protein is localised to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane, Golgi apparatus, trans-Golgi network membrane, and melanosome. The kit is supplied for storage at -20°C and is intended for research use only.
