Human Melanocyte antibody (MCAb) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA is designed for the precise detection of melanocyte-specific antibodies (MCAb) in human samples. Melanocyte antibodies are recognised as key biomarkers in autoimmune diseases such as vitiligo and alopecia areata, supporting research into these conditions and the development of targeted treatments.

The kit uses a colorimetric ELISA detection method and is reactive with human samples, including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Specificity covers natural and recombinant human Melanocyte antibody. Performance characteristics quoted by Assay Genie include a detection range of 15.6-1000 U/mL, a sensitivity of 7.80 U/mL, an intra-assay CV of 5.8% and an inter-assay CV of 9.7%. Recovery averages are 97% for serum (range 91-103%) and 99% for plasma (range 93-105%). The kit is intended for research use only.

Melanocytes are melanin-producing cells located in the stratum basale of the skin's epidermis, the uvea of the eye, the inner ear, meninges, bones and heart; melanin is primarily responsible for skin colour. The Sandwich ELISA format provides a standard curve-based readout measured at 450 nm.
