Human Melanin-concentrating hormone receptor 2 (MCHR2) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of human Melanin-concentrating hormone receptor 2 (MCHR2). The kit is intended for research use only and has been validated to recognize natural and recombinant human MCHR2. Acceptable sample types include human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids.

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the assay has a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.078 ng/mL. Reported precision includes an intra-assay CV of 3.7% and an inter-assay CV of 7.2%. Linearity was evaluated across serial dilutions in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma. Recovery was assessed in serum (average 103%, range 97–109%) and plasma (average 105%, range 99–111%).

MCHR2 is a G-protein coupled receptor for melanin-concentrating hormone, localized to the cell membrane as a multi-pass membrane protein and coupled to G proteins that activate phosphoinositide hydrolysis. It is involved in energy homeostasis, feeding behavior, and stress response, and its dysregulation has been linked to obesity, depression, and anxiety disorders, making it a biomarker of interest in metabolic and psychiatric research.
