MECOM, also designated EVI1 or MDS1-EVI1, is a zinc finger transcription factor encoded at chromosome 3q26 with central roles in hematopoietic stem cell maintenance and myeloid differentiation. Dysregulated MECOM expression is recurrently observed in acute myeloid leukemia, myelodysplastic syndromes, and chronic myeloid leukemia, and elevated transcript or protein levels correlate with adverse prognostic features in these disorders. Quantitative measurement of MECOM protein in clinical specimens therefore supports translational research into leukemogenesis, biomarker discovery, and therapy response monitoring.

The Assay Genie Human MECOM ELISA Kit is a quantitative immunoassay platform for measuring endogenous MECOM in human serum or plasma samples. Detection proceeds through a colorimetric readout, and the 96 Assays plate layout accommodates routine screening of study cohorts within a standard laboratory workflow. The assay is configured for use with human specimens only and is supplied as a complete research-use kit containing the reagents required to run the plate.

Applications include studies of transcription factor expression in hematologic malignancies, validation of MECOM as a disease biomarker, and investigation of pathways governing hematopoietic stem and progenitor cell fate. Researchers analyzing paired biofluid samples from patient cohorts and control donors can apply the kit to compare MECOM levels across disease stages, cytogenetic risk groups, or treatment arms.
