Human Mdm2-binding protein (MTBP) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of human Mdm2-binding protein (MTBP), also referenced by the synonym hMTBP. The assay is intended for research use only and supports studies in the cancer research area, where MTBP is of interest owing to its role in regulating the MDM2–p53/TP53 pathway.

Reactive with human samples, the kit is validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with specificity for natural and recombinant human Mdm2-binding protein. Reported performance includes a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.21 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 4.5% and an inter-assay CV of 7.9%.

MTBP interacts with MDM2, inhibiting MDM2 autoubiquitination and thereby enhancing MDM2 stability, which in turn promotes MDM2-mediated ubiquitination of p53/TP53 and its subsequent degradation. The protein has also been reported to inhibit cell migration in vitro and to suppress the invasive behavior of tumor cells, making it a relevant biomarker for research into cancer and related disease mechanisms.
