Human MDA5/IFIH1 ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of human MDA5 (IFIH1), also known as interferon-induced helicase C domain-containing protein 1 and melanoma differentiation-associated protein 5. The double-antibody assay uses a colorimetric readout, with absorbance read at 450 nm after TMB substrate development, and is validated for human serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples.

MDA5 is a cytoplasmic RNA sensor involved in detecting viral infections and triggering innate immune responses, and its dysregulation has been linked to autoimmune conditions including type 1 diabetes and autoimmune polyendocrine syndrome, supporting its relevance as a biomarker in immunology, virology, and autoimmune disease research. The kit reports a sensitivity of 46.875 pg/mL and an assay range of 78.125–5000 pg/mL. Linearity across 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions was 87–97%, 84–100% and 81–97% in serum; 85–105%, 86–100% and 86–103% in EDTA plasma; and 83–98%, 86–101% and 90–96% in heparin plasma (n=5). Spike recovery was 85–101% (average 99%) in serum, 86–101% (98%) in EDTA plasma, and 87–105% (98%) in heparin plasma (n=5). Kits are stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.
