Minichromosome Maintenance Complex Component 7 (MCM7) is one of six subunits (MCM2 through MCM7) that assemble into the replicative helicase complex responsible for unwinding parental duplex DNA ahead of the replication fork during eukaryotic S phase. This Assay Genie ELISA kit is configured as a quantitative immunoassay for human MCM7 protein, supporting research into replication licensing and proliferative status in clinical specimens. Because MCM7 expression is tightly restricted to actively cycling cells and is minimal in quiescent or terminally differentiated tissue, circulating MCM7 levels have been investigated as a proliferation biomarker in studies of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia, prostate adenocarcinoma, breast carcinoma, colorectal cancer, and hepatocellular carcinoma.
