MCCC1 encodes the mitochondrial biotin-dependent carboxylase subunit that catalyzes the fourth step of leucine catabolism, and altered expression is investigated in relation to 3-methylcrotonyl-CoA carboxylase deficiency (3-MCCD), an autosomal recessive disorder of branched-chain amino acid metabolism. This Assay Genie immunoassay uses a human-specific capture antibody and provides quantitative data on a microplate format with all reagents supplied in ready-to-use vials.
