Human Matrix metalloproteinase-26 (MMP26) ELISA Kit

Designed for the quantitative measurement of human Matrix metalloproteinase-26 (MMP26), also referred to as Endometase or Matrilysin-2, this Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie uses a colorimetric detection method and is supplied for research use only. The assay is reactive with human samples, including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Performance specifications include a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.098ng/mL. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 3.5% and an inter-assay CV of 6.9%. Specificity has been demonstrated against natural and recombinant human MMP26. Linearity has been assessed in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. Recovery in serum averages 88% (range 82-94%) and in plasma averages 90% (range 84-96%). The MMP26 protein is catalogued under UniProt accession Q9NRE1.

MMP26 is a secreted zinc-dependent metalloendopeptidase that contributes to tissue remodelling and extracellular matrix degradation. Listed substrates include collagen type IV, fibronectin, fibrinogen, beta-casein, type I gelatin and alpha-1 proteinase inhibitor, and the enzyme is also able to activate progelatinase B. Dysregulation of MMP26 has been linked to cancer, arthritis and inflammatory diseases, making it a marker of interest for studies of disease progression and potential therapeutic interventions.
