Human Matrix metalloproteinase-24 (MMP24) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie intended for the quantitative detection of human Matrix metalloproteinase-24 (MMP24) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids, with a colorimetric readout.

Manufacturer-reported performance figures include a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL, a sensitivity of 40.1pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 3.1% and an inter-assay CV of 5.6%. Dilutional linearity has been characterised in serum (94-119%), EDTA plasma (102-120%) and heparin plasma (90-120%) across dilutions of 1:2 to 1:16. Spike-and-recovery averages are 81% in serum (range 80-87%) and 83% in plasma (range 80-89%). The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human MMP24 and is supplied for research use only.

MMP24, also known as membrane-type matrix metalloproteinase 5 (MT-MMP 5, MT5-MMP, MT5MMP, MMP-24), is a membrane-bound metalloprotease involved in extracellular matrix breakdown, tissue remodeling and wound healing, and dysregulation of its activity has been associated with cancer, arthritis and cardiovascular disorders. The enzyme mediates cleavage of N-cadherin (CDH2), contributes to neuro-immune interactions and neural stem cell quiescence, acts as a mediator of peripheral thermal nociception and inflammatory hyperalgesia, and is able to activate progelatinase A.
