Human Matrix metalloproteinase-19 (MMP19) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie offers a sandwich ELISA kit for the quantitative measurement of human Matrix metalloproteinase-19 (MMP19) in biological samples. The assay is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids, and shows reactivity with human samples. Detection is performed on a colorimetric microplate read at 450 nm.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.78-50ng/ml, a sensitivity of 0.19ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 5.3% and an inter-assay CV of 9.4%. Spike-and-recovery testing gave average recoveries of 103% for serum (range 97-109%) and 105% for plasma (range 99-111%). Linearity across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions was demonstrated in serum (85-112%), EDTA plasma (92-113%) and heparin plasma (85-119%).

MMP19 is an endopeptidase involved in tissue remodeling and extracellular matrix degradation, with roles in development, haemostasis and pathological conditions. It hydrolyses collagen type IV, laminin, nidogen, nascin-C isoform, fibronectin, type I gelatin, aggrecan and cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP), and has been implicated in angiogenesis and in diseases including cancer, arthritis and cardiovascular disorders. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human MMP19 (UniProt Q99542) and is supplied for research use only.
