Human Matrix metalloproteinase-16 (MMP16) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Matrix metalloproteinase-16 (MMP16). The assay is reactive with human samples and targets natural and recombinant MMP16, also known by synonyms including MMP-X2, Membrane-type matrix metalloproteinase 3, MT-MMP 3, MT3-MMP, MMP-16, C8orf57, and MMPX2 (UniProt P51512).

The kit reports a detection range of 0.156-10 ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.1 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 4.9% and inter-assay CV is 7.6%. Recovery in serum averages 88% (range 82-94%) and in plasma averages 90% (range 84-96%). Linearity has been characterised across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma, with reported ranges varying by sample matrix.

Suitable sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. MMP16 is an endopeptidase that degrades components of the extracellular matrix such as collagen type III and fibronectin, activates progelatinase A, and contributes to blood vessel matrix remodeling; the isoform short cleaves fibronectin and collagen type III at a lower rate.
