Description

This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is specifically designed for the precise measurement of Matrix extracellular phosphoglycoprotein (MEPE) levels in human biological samples. The kit targets the human MEPE protein, also known by the synonyms Osteoblast/osteocyte factor 45 (OF45) and Osteoregulin, and is reactive with human samples.

Suitable sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit detects natural and recombinant human Matrix extracellular phosphoglycoprotein, with an intra-assay CV of 4.9% and an inter-assay CV of 8.2%. Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.94-60ng/mL and sensitivity of 0.43ng/mL, with optical density read at 450 nm.

Linearity was assessed across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 (N=5). Recovery data show serum at 92% average (86-98%) and plasma at 94% average (88-100%). MEPE is a secreted calcium-binding phosphoprotein belonging to the small integrin-binding ligand, N-linked glycoprotein (SIBLING) family, identified by UniProt code Q9NQ76. It plays a role in renal phosphate handling and in bone and cartilage mineralization, making it a relevant biomarker for research into conditions such as osteoporosis and renal osteodystrophy.
