MAT2A catalyzes the formation of S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe) from methionine and ATP, acting as a key methyl donor for DNA methylation, histone modifications, and neurotransmitter synthesis. Dysregulation of MAT2A has been implicated in liver disorders, cancer, and neurological conditions, supporting its value as a biomarker for research into disease progression and therapeutic development.

Kit components include a pre-coated dismountable microplate, lyophilized standard, biotin-labeled detection antibody, HRP-streptavidin conjugate, TMB substrate, sample and antibody dilution buffers, wash buffer (25X), stop solution, and plate sealer. The protocol involves sequential incubations at 37°C with biotinylated detection antibody and HRP-streptavidin, followed by TMB color development. Reported linearity spans 80–105% across serial dilutions in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma, with recovery averages of 94% (serum), 95% (EDTA plasma), and 99% (heparin plasma). Unopened components are stored at 2–8°C for 12 months.
