Description

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative detection of human Mast cell carboxypeptidase A (CPA3) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids. Using a colorimetric detection method with human reactivity, the kit is intended for research use only.

The assay provides a detection range of 0.78-50ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.34ng/mL, with a reported intra-assay CV of 6.0% and inter-assay CV of 9.1%. Linearity in serum ranges from 93-105% at 1:2, 91-101% at 1:4, 108-118% at 1:8, and 99-109% at 1:16 dilution. EDTA plasma shows 105-114%, 95-95%, 97-107%, and 103-112% across the same dilutions, while heparin plasma shows 109-119%, 99-109%, 106-118%, and 85-97%. Recovery averaged 107% for serum (range 101-113%) and 109% for plasma (range 103-115%). Specificity covers natural and recombinant human Mast cell carboxypeptidase A, the research area is Cell Biology, and the UniProt reference is P15088. Synonyms include Carboxypeptidase A3 and MC-CPA.

CPA3 is a zinc metalloprotease that functions as a secretory granule metalloexopeptidase expressed in mast cells, with subcellular localization in cytoplasmic vesicles, secretory vesicles, and secretory granules. Elevated CPA3 levels have been implicated in inflammatory responses, allergic reactions, and mast cell-related disorders, and expression may be elevated in human asthma patients, making the kit relevant to research in immunology, allergy, and inflammatory diseases.
