Human Mannose-binding protein C (MBL2) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of human Mannose-binding protein C (MBL2) and is intended for research use only. The assay uses a colorimetric ELISA detection principle with reactivity to human samples, and is suitable for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Specificity is reported for natural and recombinant human Mannose-binding protein C. The target protein is also known by synonyms including Collectin-1, MBP1, Mannan-binding protein, Mannose-binding lectin, MBP-C, COLEC1 and MBL.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.078 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 4.7% and an inter-assay CV of 7.9%. Recovery is reported at an average of 98% (range 92–104%) for serum and 100% (range 94–106%) for plasma. MBL2 is a calcium-dependent lectin involved in innate immune defense, binding mannose, fucose and N-acetylglucosamine on microorganisms and activating the lectin complement pathway. The protein also binds late apoptotic cells, apoptotic blebs and necrotic cells but not early apoptotic cells, facilitating their uptake by macrophages, and may bind DNA.
