Human Malic Enzyme 2, NADP+ Dependent, Mitochondrial (ME2) ELISA Kit

This Assay Genie immunoassay targets the mitochondrial NADP-dependent isoform of malic enzyme, a tetrameric enzyme that catalyzes the reversible oxidative decarboxylation of malate to pyruvate with concomitant reduction of NADP+ to NADPH. ME2 participates in pyruvate cycling, the malate-aspartate shuttle, and glutamine-driven reductive carboxylation, and altered expression has been reported in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma and other solid tumors, supporting its use as a candidate biomarker in cancer metabolism research. The kit is supplied as a microplate with pre-coated capture antibody, lyophilized recombinant standards, biotinylated detection reagent, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, and chromogenic substrate; reconstituted components are stable short-term at 4 degrees C with longer-term storage at -20 degrees C and protection from light advised for working substrate solution. Each kit includes sealed vials sufficient for in vitro quantification of endogenous ME2 in cell lysates, tumor xenograft homogenates, and human tissue specimens.
